Rebati Kay-la is based on the belief that Haitians are fully capable of developing their own country, they merely need the opportunity and the resources to do it.  The goal of Rebati Kay-la and Conejo Compassion Coalition is to raise up and support local Haitian leaders and provide them with the resources they need to rebuild their own country

Respect for Haitian Traditions

The homes built by AEDCH with the support of the Conejo Compassion Coalition respect the traditions and values of the Haitian people rather than to focus on concepts or designs that are foreign to the Haitian people. .

 

Return of Positive Social Norms

The Rebati development model is based on a return to the forgotten but powerful traditions in the Haitian culture, particularly Kole zèpol (solidarity), and Kombit (neighbor helping neighbor)
